  • How is Columbia Direct Primary Care’s model different from a traditional (i.e., insurance-based) primary care practice?
Did you know that most doctor's visits only last for 8 minutes and in our community it can take 3-6 months to get a doctor's appointment? At Columbia DPC, appointments run on time. Dr. Lee-Llacer spends 30 minutes to 1 hour with his patients allowing ample time to discuss medical concerns. He offers same day or next day appointments, restoring the patient-physician relationship and improving health. Patients are charged a membership fee outside of insurance that can be paid every 3 months, 6 months or yearly.
  • Do you have any evening or weekend hours?
Our clinic hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except on Wednesday where it is 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. For enhanced patient access, Dr. Lee-Llacer is available for urgent matters by phone, text or email.
  • Why should I join your practice?
To help you stay healthy. We at Columbia DPC strongly believe in the power of prevention. Through personalized lifestyle interventions such as bio-identical hormone therapy and evidence-based screening tests, we can help keep you healthy. To get the care you need when you need it, by someone who knows you and not by a random urgent care provider.
  • Is there a pay-per-visit option available for direct primary care services?
Yes, we have a pay-per-visit option to access services. Please contact our office for current pricing.
  • Do you take insurances like Medicare or Blue Cross?
We are currently evaluating this option. Please contact us to get on a waitlist.
  • How much is your yearly membership fee?
Please contact our office for updated pricing. There is a minimum 3 month obligation when joining. There are never any co-pays or deductibles to meet. For young adults 18 to 25 years of age, the annual membership fee is discounted. Payments for the membership fee can be made every 3 months, every 6 months or yearly. We accept cash, Zelle, Visa, and MasterCard.
  • What’s included in the yearly membership fee?
The yearly fee entitles you to unlimited visits, enhanced after hours access to Dr. Lee-Llacer, and certain basic blood tests with your annual physical. Rather than the 8 minutes that most insurance-based practices allot per visit, Dr. Lee-Llacer spends 30-60 minutes with his patients.
  • Do you offer any discounts?
For young adults 18 to 25 years of age, the annual membership fee is discounted.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Three months of the annual membership is non-refundable. This is due to the extensive onboarding process. A 30 day written notice is required.
  • If I join your practice, do I still need health insurance?
Direct primary care is not a health insurance. Insurance is still needed to cover your other medical expenses such as emergency department visits, hospitalizations, surgeries, specialist visits, non-routine lab studies and imaging studies. Columbia DPC is simply a practice where patients can see their physician at their convenience, without the typical frustration of a conventional practice.
  • Can I join the practice even if I do not have insurance?
Yes!! At Columbia Direct Primary Care, we believe in a simpler, more personalized approach to healthcare. No insurance involved - We do not require insurance and do not directly bill any insurance companies. Insurance is still recommended for emergencies and specialized care, if needed. Patient-centered care - We prioritize YOU! At Columbia Direct Primary Care, you get more time with your doctor, faster access to care, and a true partnership in managing your health. No hidden costs, no middlemen-just better healthcare for YOU.
  • What if I need testing or I need to see a specialist? Are those expenses covered in the yearly membership fee?
Except for certain blood tests that are included as part of the annual physical, the yearly fee does not cover labs, imaging studies, or referrals to specialists. With respect to lab testing, we will order the labs and send you to the lab covered by your insurance. Similarly, if you need an imaging test or you need to see a specialist, we refer you to a facility/specialist covered by your insurance.
